Root Canal Therapy (Endodontics):
Natural teeth are meant to last a lifetime. If one of your teeth should become seriously injured or diseased, often it can be saved through a technique called endodontic or root canal therapy.
Root canals are about 90-95% successful at saving infected teeth.
During root canal therapy, the infected nerve or pulp tissue is removed. The inside of the tooth is cleaned, shaped and disinfected.
Finally it is sealed with a special plastic filling material.
Since the tooth has been hollowed out, a crown is needed to restore the tooth’s structure, function and appearance.
